A SUDDEN BLACKNESS

A sudden blackness

Blacked the day

Darkness decended and night came

It was an instant that lasted an instant

I was walking  through the Wicklow Mountains

Starlings in thei multitude

In their millions

Flying as one

Parked on each others tail

A handful of grey crows

Were swept into the cyclone

And were hurtled into the abis

A regular sight

But soon I would see nomore

We hurried down the road of newness

In a desperate effort to go nowhere
