Nobody knows them now

Nobody knows them now,

They were dead

Before I was born,

Their names have faded,

On their grey dark headstone

Washed away by time and rust,

They stood where I stand now

Probably rushing from one place to another

In a fright of wasted activity

In a hurry to nowhere

Then sinking into the abyss of the forgotten

And the unknown

I remember them now

And pray for their release from Purgetary
