Gulls Screaming
Swans chasing Ducks
Children throwing bread
Into the still water
Of the canal
All is quiet for a second
Then all hell breaks loose
Pandemonium everywhere
Each bird determines to be first
The Strongest gets there
Best fed
Looking for more
Always looking for more
For much needs more
This is the way it is
Always was
And always will be.
