I MET A MAN DOWN THE CANAL TURNED IN ON HIMSELF I SAID HELLO HE GROWLED

I met a man With happy eyes Walking the canal Passing me by He said to me KEEP SMILING

There he is Alone in the canal Amongst the reeds Swooning in the still Almost alive Ready for flight Ready for life But there is no getting ready There is only a still The silence And the no tomorrow
