I was a child in these fields
Made daisy chains
Picked cowslips
In the woods,
Where we played
Fished the canal
Dived from the lock
Played horses in the Knox
Skated the Moat
Blew Love me Love me nots

Sang the daily prayer
Daily Daily Sing to Mary
Now I walk where we raced boxes
Admire the chestnut
I am a man
