5 North Main Street

Description

Growing up in a small shop on the main street in the lean post-war years provided me not only with some of the happiest times of my life – it also brought me into contact with an incredibly rich cavalcade of characters, who belong now to a totally different era, the likes of which will never be seen again.” – Timmy Conway

Timmy Conway’s book, Five North Main Street, is an account of his childhood in Naas town, and gives a vivid and at times hilarious, account of life in Naas at the time. Old residents of Naas will recognise many of the characters, and newcomers will appreciate the word-picture of their town in an earlier era.
