Poems

A Robin sang for me this morning

Among branches hidden by leaves

I did not search for the singing bird

For searching quenches the quiet mind

And I could disturb the rapture of its song

I did not wonder how the voice came to be

Or the years that perfected the bird

Or think of the generations that shaped its song

But I continued down the wood

With my senses filled with the singing bird

Adding its smiles to leafy branches.
